Was it just me, or did anyone else have a hard time making out what was happening in the wide-shots? Many of the shots were hard to make out, but I'm specifically talking about when the Night's Watch was looking out over the wall. All I could see was fire, a chunk of dark (trees?) and white (snow). I was watching it on an HD TV, but the cable box is standard. I might fire up the HBO Go on Apple TV which is in HD and see if it is easier to see everything that was so dark.

RIP Ygritte. At least you had Jon Snow eat you out in a cave.

This was one of those episodes where everything and nothing happens. That battle could have been twenty minutes long and the rest of the episode could have featured actual exposition and plot movement.
