A&E cancelled the crime drama Longmire despite decent ratings earlier this year. But as it has done for other shows, Netflix has swooped down and given the show a little more life.

Since the third season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger with (vaguely worded spoiler) someone firing a shotgun and the identity of who had Walt's wife killed apparently revealed, a fourth season would give the show some closure, much like The Killing did.

I like that Netflix is snapping up shows that have a solid following even if they're not necessarily pulling in the demographic that advertisers want.

The new 10 episode season is scheduled to air next year.
